Taye Diggs To Star In Grey’s Anatomy Spin-Off
Looks like the rumors of an Addison spin-off are more than just rumors. In fact, news about it is all over the place at the moment, and the latest from Entertainment Weekly is that Taye Diggs has been cast.
Taye Diggs, he of RENT, and married to the talented Idina Menzel (RENT, Wicked) … can you tell I’m a Broadway fan? Hehe. I love Taye Diggs.
There is nothing yet on what his character will be, though it’s always fun to start speculating. What this means, of course, is that Addison will very likely be leaving Grey’s Anatomy in the not-so-distant future. That saddens me.
Do you think this spin-off is going to do well or will it simply ruin a good thing?
Guess I’ll wait to watch it. Addison is one of my favorite characters on the show. Better that she get her own show than get written off Grey’s Anatomy and never seen again, no?

Ausiello: At least one of these things will happen before the end of the season:
• After breaking things off with Cristina, Burke will transfer to another hospital.
• Callie will reveal she’s pregnant.
• Izzie and George will hook up.
• Izzie will be reunited with her daughter, and it’s someone we’ve already seen on the show.
• Addison will be diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
• Derek and Meredith’s relationship will hit a roadblock when one of her exes shows up on her doorstep with one thing on his mind.
I wonder if the rest will happen but just in another season??????

I agree with Meg, I will be super sad if Kate leaves! But leaving now better than later? Look at Joey from Friends, that show turned out awful…

i think it will ruin the show….i could see it after grey’s eventually goes off air in like 10 years :)..but not now.
and most shows dont even do well…JOEY.
i think its kinda stupid.
and im just starting to like addison now!

If Addison leaves I will be devastated, she’s my favorite character! But, she is also a wonderful actress and I would like to see her have her own show.

This spinoff thing is totally stupid…You dont have a spinoff of a show that is still on the air. Plus Addison plays way too big of a role on Greys to be leaving. Shonda and her stupid ideas!!!!!!!!!!!

addison’s my favourite toooooooooo! i dnt want her to leave…but i think its quite cool that she gets her own show…. tho i’m a bit apprehensive about spin-offs….. either way… i’ll be watching!

Greys wont be greys without addison!!! She adds to much 2 the show and if she goes, it wont be as interesting 2 watch… Besides, shes only bin on the show for like a year!! This whole spinoff thing is a bad idea!! Addison must stay!!!

I personally think that the spin off is a horrible idea. You shouldnt do it while the original show is still on air, and you definitely shouldnt take away one of the main characters. Addison plays a major role in greys now and it would be ridiculous to take her off or have someone new play her part. Who will be the new baby doctor? Greys will not be the same without her. She is an amazing actress for sure and probably deserves her own show but not now and not a spin off, this show is perfect how it is.

Addison leaving the show may be a blessing for her character. She has been heart-broken since her split with Derrick and she could use the emotional break it would give her. For some reason, I almost see her hooking up with the chief before she leaves. She has such an emotional tie to him and is also alone right now, he is heartbroken since his marriage dissolved as well as Meridith’s mother passing as well. This could lead to a lot of reasons for her to leave this hospital and start over somewhere else, but if she leaves, if she taking McSteamy with her…I just love looking at him..he is yummy!!!

Ria is correct, of course. Taye Digg’s shows have not been successes.
